Band Camp
After a long wait, Band Camp Arrives, And Before you know it, it is over. Band camp this year, was earlier, as there were 2 days that were on sat and sun, and we could not have it then. That aside, this year band camp was really veri interesting, despite minor setbacks such as the never- ending casacde of rain. Through this band camp, leaders are shown, everyone's personality is revealed. Maybe some of you might be the future majors? With the end of band camp, it also spells doom for us sec 3 this year. In less then 4 months, it would be our SYF, and with that, we would have to leave the band as a full time member. I wonder if i could do it?....
It would also be hard on the existing memebers as all our burden shall be passed on to them, such as being a committee. Hope that with our leaving, the band standard would not plummet down. I believe in them, if they work hard, it will not happen.
Sad things aside, allow me the honour and pleasure of relating the entire band camp to you...
day 1
Now, day 1 is on the 18th of dec, and it means 5 days of intense training, and 4 nights of hard, warm floor(AKA the sports hall). I woke up early to take a cab, but who knew it would take me nearly 30 mins to get one? I was so angry by the time i managed to get one. Luckily i was still in time. Now, as i reported in the canteen, i discovered a stupid thing.. I forgot to bring my school uniform!!! So, i made call to my grandma, and thank god, she brought it to school for me. Back to the camp itself, after brefing, it meant that the camp has begun. Throught out the day, we had telematches, sectional, combine, and even foot drill!(my favourite part of the entire camp, partially cause it is not as tought as wad ncc and npcc have to go thru). We had a cheer competition too, which my fgroup unfortunaly had to present first.In the telematch, it was veri funny. We had to prevent ourselves from laughing in order to gain points for our team. that was hard when you see people like "Ru Hua" inside. Anyway, since it was still raining, we went off for dinner first. AFter dinner, it was still raining, but hack care, we went to the parade square and we played water games.(we are already going to get wet eventually with water games, what is rain going to harm us?). We played dog and water(a varient of dog and bone), and it was sure fun, but due to time constraint, we could only play a few rounds. AFter which was sleeping time!! And time to kiss welcome to the hard unforgiving floor and harsh conditions of the sports hall. And through out the entire day, we had quite a number of water parades which many complained off(i got no idea why, water is good for you.)
day 2
Yawn. This morning we had our revellie played by Neverland and sheryl koh, on the trombone and trumpet respectively, and so, WAKE UP PPL!!! After which, we had PT, which i felt was a bit too slack as compared to the previous years. No matter, we did it, and then as usual, we had sectionals, combine, foot drill, etc. At night, we had superband! My group's performance was a floop. I had to say it, mainly due to the fact that some of our members last min could not make it, and we had to replan everything, so we um failed terribly at it. No matter, the worse part was that we got the first group to perform again! ARGH so sia suay. anyway, after that was over, it was time to watch a movie, and fill up a worksheet with regards to it. It was a splendid movie, showing about this person's live, from being a music teacher, to being one when after 30 yrs, gets sacked and all his students came back perform his song"the american symphony", after news broke out that the entire music programme of his school was cut.
day 3
it was one of the best days we had. Today we went to the zoo, and had an amazing race sort of thing. My group got back 5th, but we never manged to complete all the 7 stations... so sad. AFter which we had to fill in a "fill in the blank" worksheet. Then it was time to get back to school, and watch a horror movie. We watched the movie entitled" The haunted Apartments" which was about a girl and her father, who moved into this haunted building, and.....It is indeed a spectacular film. I recommand all to watch it. At night, it was time for our haunted house. My group had to go thru it first, which unfortunatly, the house was not spooked up enuf. Only the last few groups got the spookier one. I went first, and it was actually more funny then scary. We had to find this death note, and memorise a certain page. i went thru it without finding the note, and when i reached the exit, i went back in to search for it again. I stayed on to help in the crowd control etc, till about 3 plus, when i decided that it was pointless for me to stay on any longer as my work there was done, and i got back to sleep.
day 4
one more day to go, and oh yeh! Percussion Played revellie=D .stupid NPCC early morning shout so loud, complain we inconsiderate, when you ppl early morning ppl wannt to sleep you all down there shouting. We sleep you also must extra, guys sleep near guys toilet got wrong meh? Idiots sia. wad we do what does it have to do with you.
finally the PT was tougher, as Li Xuan came to make it even better.
In the afternoon, we had to wash our instruments, and i had to wash the band stall, wipe the shelves, with help from others(actually they did most of the work, i ran up and down some times to check on brasses even though fazli was .)
I enjoyed myself that day with the christmas celebration at night. In the begining, we had to play a game called " qing ni gen wo zhe yang zhuo"(translation=please do this with me"), my group had a hard time trying to get a winner, so i went up as the rest could not play. In the finals, we had 6 ppl competing agains teach other, and the funniest part was, i was the only guy among the 6! no matter, i fought on, but unforunatley lost in the final round.(hey being the 2nd is not bad, looking at the fact that the first place had to do a forfeit). After which we had to perform our christmas song.My group, again, got FIRST group to perofm again. My grp was really unlucky then. But i managed to stall time as one of my members was not feeling well, and we had to wait for 2 more members to come. I went around as frosty the snowman , spraying snow over nearly everyone else there(i really disgraced my self back tehre) then next up was to dress up one of our group members as a reindeer. Ferran got that post and it sure was interesting to see different groups coordinating to ocme up with a great show(it was impromptu which made it even better.) then it was time to exchange gifts, and time for bed.
day 5
nothing much here, it was mainly debreif. It was much easier to get a cab outside school then at home.
Did i mention that at the end of the whole thing everyone had muscle cramps?
That seems to sum it up. One week left before school starts, and i haven even touched my school woek yet! Time to start on it soon. See yah all!
Sorry for the super laggy ness of my skin, i am currently searching for a newer skin to help solve this problem. In the meantime, sry for any inconvience caused.
